It Works! August 3, 2010 Sandy Easy to attach to the stump or small tree. It won't slip off like other methods I have used. The harder you pull the tighter it gets.
Most times it opens up to remove very nicely. If it is stubborn just smack it with a mallet and lets go.
I used it to pull large poisen oak vines out of trees, roots and all.
Real nice tool for the money.
Fantastic! May 29, 2010 Jerry W. Cottle (South Charleston, WV USA) Started digging up rhododendron bushes with a shovel and mattock, so I was soon looking for a better (easier) way. I remember seeing these somewhere, so I thought I would try it. What a tool! I just clamped the Brush Grubber on to the trunk of the rhododendron and hooked it to my jeep and pulled the whole bush out of the ground, roots and all! Just unclamp it and clamp to another one and before you know it you have a huge pile of debris to get rid of! Really a time and back saver. I used a rope but I reccommend a chain instead. The rope stretched a lot and could become a slingshot if something gives. I elected for the heavy duty Brush Grubber and I am glad I did. Amazon had a great price and free shipping. Amazon is hard to beat!
CHINESE Sapling Puller May 9, 2010 gary straneva (North East, Pennsylvania United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wish I could have seen the item in a local store before I purchased one from AMAZON.com.. If I had I may have re-thought the purchase. I have never been too impressed with Chinese made tools regardless of the cost primarily because of quality issues. I had expected the heavy duty brush grubber to be a little more substantial than it is, but only time will tell. I hope that when it fails it doesn't turn into a bunch of flying parts aimed at the back of my head.
In retrospect,I should have purchased the Extreme version, but at the time I didn't think I would need the "overkill"
I have sent e-mails to the manufacturer re: spare parts but they remain unanswered, phone calls also go unanswered or ring busy.
husband likes it April 19, 2010 husband likes it it should help us clear out a lot we have near the lake.lots of trees different sizes. he said a handle to open the jaws would make it much eaiser for one man to operate. he has shown it to friends and 4 people have said they will be getting one also. i would like to know someone who has one of the smaller ones with the long handle he seems to think i would like it and use it .but first i would like to see it and try it out before getting one. he hooks his up to a chain hoist, and pulls live redbuds, dogwoods sugar maples, and seals the hole with pruning sealer and transplants them .
Excellent buy November 21, 2009 Darrel Allen (Arkansas) Heavy duty grubber works as advertised. I have used it for pulling pine, sweet gum and scrub oak up to the 4" capacity of the jaws. This tool has saved me so much time and effort. Very well built.
