3 out of 5 stars Better than getting on a ladder   August 1, 2010
Bette Wood (Monterey, CA)
This product does the job that it is intended to do and it is better than getting on a ladder. It is a little hard to get some of the fruit in the basket and the "claws" don't get the stubborn fruit very well. Overall though, I am happy that I purchased it.

1 out of 5 stars Fruit & Branch Mangler   July 31, 2010
Lurfy's Ma (California)
This picker will get the fruit, but it usually gets some of the branch as well and sometimes rips off a whole branch. It pulls the fruit off. If the fruit does not come off easily, which my oranges usually don't, I have to pull hard. When the fruit finally comes loose, the back snap of the branch sometimes causes other oranges to fall to the ground and get bruised or broken. The wire hooks can damage the fruit unless you are very careful.

The wire basket can be difficult to thread through the branches. It is also difficult to grab a single fruit in a cluster.

Get the TwisterPicker also available here on Amazon. It beats the wire basket hands down. Read the reviews there before you buy here. Here's the link:

5 out of 5 stars easier to pick my apples and pears this year   July 30, 2010
Ms. KnitEng (close to the Smoky Mountains)
LOVE IT because it is easy for me to use.Wish it were a bit longer (a 3rd) section. I am 5'6" and can not reach the 15 ft. fruit - only about 12 with any control. Actually am beating some of the deer to my apples and pears. Good quality for a home orchard. Very helpful for me. Much less ladder time. Would buy large and small basket next time. Foam pad a nice touch. One of my neighbors has borrowed it for his fruit. He really liked it- he has dwarf trees.

4 out of 5 stars works great, hard to store   May 10, 2010

works great...hard to store unless you have a place for it. It's a lot cheaper than the ones you see in the stores for $65...and same quality

4 out of 5 stars Apple Picker   December 28, 2009
Niagara member (Niagara, WI)
My post office wanted to charge me extra shipping because the poles were sticking out of the package and not wrapped but after contacting seller and telling the post office about the contract, I did not have to pay anything. Picker looks good. Will try it out next fall when we get apples.
